Álvaro (guitar, lead vocals), Mickele (drums), Ander (guitar and vocals) and Diego (bass) make up Comic Sans, a young quartet formed in 2019 in Donosti that stands as one of the cornerstones of the wave of midwest emo bands that have sprung up across the country in recent years. Sharing the stage with contemporaries such as Nogato, Garbí, Boys Kissing Boys and Bernal, amongst others, Comic Sans released their first self-released full-length album, ‘Jon Lee’, in 2021, followed by ‘Éramos felices y no lo sabíamos’, produced at the legendary Ultramarinos Costa Brava studio and released in 2023 on the legendary BCore label. The following year, also with BCore, they released the EP ‘Ojalá fuera mi cumpleaños’. Building on this track record, Comic Sans have played across the Iberian Peninsula and parts of Europe, even sharing the stage with international icons of their genre such as Michael Cera Palin and Cap’n Jazz. In 2026, they released a new album with the same studio and label, ‘Todas las cosas que nos salieron mal’ – a feast of frenetic riffs, intricate drumming, heavy basslines and guaranteed catchy choruses – with which they continue to enjoy success amongst their fans and will keep winning over new listeners to the genre thanks to this diverse and high-energy musical journey.
