The main thrust of Besaide are the antique rhythms, melodies and lyrics from traditional Basque music passed down through oral tradition or found in songbooks. They arrange ancient songs and create new ones using alboka and hurdy-gurdy, distinctive in basque music, but nowadays diminished, which are combined with other musical instruments coming from further traditions. This mixture creates their characteristic sonority.
